Because "end times" seems to be a bit of a "hot topic" lately, I've decided to give the topic its' own page. There's a couple of articles below that you may like to read if you have an interest in Eschatology (the doctrine of end times). There are a few more that will end up on this page soon
The Rapture
How about the Rapture.... does the model promoted by people such as Tim Lahaye and the "Left Behind" books and movies really stack up?

Have a look at Mat 24 and see what it actually says.
"37As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left."

Who is the "they" in verse 39? That is clear - it's the people mentioned in verse 38. When the flood came, who was taken away? Once again, it's the people of verse 38, so the ones taken away were taken to judgment, the ones who were saved (i.e. Noah and co) were the ones left behind. You find this principle repeated in the parable of the wheat and the tares, when the harvest comes, the tares are taken and thrown into the fire. So is Tim LaHaye right when he says that it's better to be taken than to be left behind?

The Mark of the Beast

All sorts of things have been nominated as "the mark" down through the years. The original Bankcard, with its 3 coloured "b's" (that looked a lot like 3 sixes) was definitely the mark, the precursor to a cashless society - but of course it wasn't. There've been cards, tattoos and silicone chips all nominated - so which one is it?

Dates, Blood Moon and Planetary Alignments

It's easy to be cynical when someone sets a date for Christ's return and the calendar clicks over without as much as a trumpet call. However, the date setters mean well, but is date setting something that should occupy the time and effort of the church. And what date are people wanting to set? If we can't get the date right, how do we go setting a thousand years as a period in which Christ will reign?
