What do you think about people who say "God will punish (insert name)"? Is this the Christian version of vengeance?

Christians may make such statements, but only God knows the heart. Ultimately, wilful sin will be judged by God, however we must never underestimate the power of God’s love and grace. Will God “punish” this person? Well, we certainly shouldn’t and the one thing that I know about the actions that God takes in dealing with humanity – the judge of all the earth will do that which is right.
