Message / Question
do you think religion makes people feel guilty for things they shouldn’t? ps: could you please make it so we can easily search previous questions, as they quickly disappear???
Response
One of the big differences that I see between “religion” and true Christianity is that religion is built on a system of “do’s and don’ts, whereas true Christianity is built on relationship with Jesus. So religion as such can certainly give people a real sense of guilt – whether it is warranted or not. True Christianity, on the other hand, is all about coming into a relationship with Jesus that brings genuine love, absolute forgiveness and an open acceptance. If God ever makes people aware of their sin, His reason is always the same – He is willing and wanting to forgive and all the person has to do is simply receive that forgiveness.
