Some Christian parents have problems with kids who use the word "OMG". I noticed you used that in a joke. Thoughts?

I would not generally use the “OMG” in text or verbal communication and perhaps it was inappropriate to use even in the context in which I used it. If it was inappropriate, then I stand corrected.

It is certainly inappropriate for us to use God’s name as an expletive or in any irreverent way, however these days there are so many abbreviations etc that it’s easy to unintentionally slip up. Expressions such as “Jees”, “Good Lord” etc are commonly used (as is OMG of course) without even considering exactly what we are saying. So, a timely reminder for us to watch what we say!
