dave... what did you learn in your doctorate theology... is it a waste of time and money?? thank you, prospective phd student
Response:
The one thing that I would always say regarding education is that the more you learn, the more you realise just how little you know. I found that study was a very good discipline and I learned to accept less at face value and learned that it was wise to search out truth. There is no doubt that ongoing study in a particular discipline will “load you up” with more information/knowledge and potential skills in your field of study. That knowledge and those skills can assist you to either be better able to help others or to provide a better income stream for you or both. I also suggest that academic pursuit can also equip you beyond your own field of expertise, for it will instil in your mind principles of research and study that will have a broader effect on your outlook and your knowledge base. I would encourage any Christian student to prayerfully pursue the education that is available to you and the time and money spent doing so will not be wasted, rather it will be wisely invested.
