Message / Question

Pastors always talk about theory, but when it comes to practice, we need more guidance! For instance we get that adultery is a sin, but are you a male in your 40s, recently divorced, no kids, and an extremely attractive 20-something neighbour who possesses all womanly characteristics flirts with you?

Response:

It’s what you call “temptation” and it’s not a new experience for humanity – it was first experienced by the first man and woman, they both succumbed as today we live with the consequence. Of course it’s difficult to face and defeat temptation, but that’s exactly what we are called to do. The whole issue of understanding and dealing with human sexuality and the temptations that are so often associated with it, is far too complex to address in a blog. I would however, encourage you to get the book “From Good Man to Valiant Man” by Dr Allan Meyer. You can get it as a downloadable e-book or purchase a hard copy at a Christian bookshop. Allan has strongly researched the issue of male sexuality and has some good advice to anyone struggling with the issue.
