As far as election debates go, I think it’s hard to say who WON the debate. Of one thing I feel confident – Australia didn’t win! We certainly need to vote carefully, prayerfully and wisely, however I find it hard to take too seriously any election speech or promise and even less so, the media reports about them.

I did write a poem on Facebook about my thoughts on the upcoming election, so I might as well run it here as well!

My Country's Election

I love a sun-burnt country, where libs and labor vie To hold the reins of government, beneath our fair blue sky. I love the farfetched promises, that both lots always make, But once they’re into government, they’re pretty quick to break!

This time we have a contest, ‘twixt two upstanding men, It’s about free education, jobs, health and NBN, Marriage, climate change and then, there’s those who come by boat..... They make near impossible, to choose for whom to vote!

But soon the day will come and go, our ballots will be cast Some will end up at the top, some will come in last, And will it make much difference? I really doubt it will We’ll be stuck with Turnbull, Malcolm or maybe Shorten, Bill
