Who is this nick Xenophon bloke who apparently is claiming 3 seats??? Is this breaking up the labour vote so who cares? I know you're a pastor but you seem to have respected political analysis hence I ask, cheers dave

Nick Xenophon is a South Australian lawyer who was elected to his State’s upper house in 1997 on a ‘No Pokies’ platform. He was elected as a Senator for South Australia when he contested the Senate election in 2007 with almost 15% of the vote. In 2013 he gained around 25% of the vote, so it’s not surprising to see him run a whole “team” to take advantage of his electoral popularity. I think that most people would place him near the centre of the political spectrum. If we have a “hung parliament” it will particularly interesting to see which side of politics his party will support in order to help them form a government.
