Serious question - does God ever ask Christians to commit crimes?
Response
I refer you to an answer given some time ago on a similar issue. This is the link to that question: http://www.drdaves.website/single-post/2016/06/06/God-and-Morality
However, I will say one thing in addition to that answer. We are expected to obey the laws of the land unless doing so would require us to break God’s law. So, for example, if it was a crime to attend church, then I would say that God would ask us to commit a crime, to break the law and attend church anyway. In WW2, it was a crime for people in Hitler’s Germany to hide Jews, but there was clearly a “higher law” in operation and people commit the crime of hiding Jews with God’s absolute approval.
So the general answer is no, God doesn’t ask us to commit crimes, however in God’s purpose (as with hiding the Jews) there are times when He will expect us to do so.
